Although Heather Bryant has a B.A. in English with a minor in communications from Drury University, her real love is swimming. She first dipped her foot in a pool at the age of 11 and she has not looked back since. A competitive swimmer in high school and college, her expertise in the water landed her a job coaching the Wichita Swim Club, a year round swim team in her hometown. In her spare time she worked as a court clerk at Sedgwick County Courthouse in Wichita, Kansas.
In July 2006, Heather moved to South Florida to coach the Coral Springs Swim Club. Working with competitive athletes, she became acutely aware of the many injuries that plagued them. A solution presented itself when she learned about Innovative Body Solutions, a revolutionary way of stretching and strengthening muscles for optimal performance. After completing extensive course work at I.B.S., she was selected to apprentice directly under Anne Tierney and Steve Sierra, founders of the program and trainers of Dara Torres. Now clients at Pilates Health Connexion benefit from Heather’s expertise in resistive stretching and mashing, a method of preparing muscles by compressing them with the feet. In her free time, she continues to teach swimming at Quality Swim.
